Part of this project involved the renovation of the existing 2,000 SF Canteen Dining Area. Work for this included interior demolition and renovation that provided new serving line equipment, new flooring, new electrical, new wall construction, new drywall, paint and acoustical ceiling. The project scope also included the construction of a 3400 SF addition and renovation of a 1500 SF portion of the existing Nutrition and Food Service building. The new construction has a curved cantilevered canopy over the sidewalk. The construction included structural steel framing, metal stud walls, gypsum board walls, stucco exterior, EPDM roofing, gypsum board ceilings, t-bar ceilings, paint, wall coverings, ceramic tile, vinyl flooring, lighting, mechanical, fire sprinklers and low voltage controls. The project had a tight schedule which required careful planning and close coordination with VA as well as working of double shifts.
